Grew up in Monson and Greenville Maine. The AT ran right behind our house. My dad used to do trail magic. Have always wanted to thru hike. Retiring in December 2015. Now is my time. Have been hiking the PCT over the last few years and have never hiked the AT.

Direction: NOBO either 31 Aug 2015 or 12 Apr 2016. Plan to complete entire trail in 12 months. August departure with winter layoff avoids hiker buble.
