Here's a thread to help 2016ers plan their southbound hikes: 2015 Baxter State Park and Katahdin info for southbounders. (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php/111289-2015-Baxter-State-Park-and-Katahdin-info-for-southbounders)

Also leaving Late June, Early July. I'm planning to start solo because from what I've heard from others its better for find people on the trail that hike at your pace. I figure Late June Early July is a popular time to start, so I'm hoping I'll find a group that's moving at the same speed as I am so I don't feel like I have to push myself to keep up or slow down to not leave others behind. Maybe I'll see you out there!

Im planning for a sobo if everything works out. Going thru medical retirement from the army so I don't know exactly when ill be done but should have plenty of time to be ready to set out sobo. ill prob keep checking the boards to see when people are rolling out to try to meet up with someone, ill be by myself and would like to at least talk to some people before hand and maybe find some people to head out with.

Please call me at the AT Lodge in Millinocket if I can assist in any way. Most SoBo's use our services to get from public transit to Katahdin. Our website is AppalachianTrailLodge.com, and the FAQ section may answer many of your questions.

Hey all, I won't be able to hit the AT for a few years, but I am considering a SOBO thru hike. My biggest consideration is that in June my daughter will be graduating college in Upstate NY. It would be awesome to step on on a personal high like that. Anyways, if any if you SOBOers are going to share your experiences on youtube like a lot of people have done the last few years, I would love to follow you and see what the SOBO route is like. Best of luck to everybody, and have a safe journey.

Planning to start ASAP after September 7th. Probably the 9th or 10th. I am guessing that I will be bringing up the rear.
