Does water leak into it when it is stored outside in the rain? If so any tips, thanks.

Mine has never leaked. I've used it many times (CA, CO, MT, WY, etc).

I don't recall where I read this but i think it was a review of the bear vault on a retail Web site... I believe the reviewer complained of moisture inside the bear vault after sitting in a puddle over night. But I haven't read any reviews complaining of wetness inside the vault due to rain.

since the top screws on, if its upside down or on its side its possible. Right side up, it should not be possible.
my bearikade is the opposite. It has a gasket at the top, but the thin aluminum lid can flex and not seal, so I turn it upside down, just make sure its not in a puddle. s such.
The original was not water tight, but subsequent models are... at least all of mine are. You may get condensation when you close it up and the temps drop overnight, happens now and then.
