I did a search on Amazon for waterproof socks and got a bunch of results for Dexshell socks. I never heard of this brand before so I checked out their website (http://www.dexshell.com/). Just wondering if anyone here has tried them. One thing I like about the Dexshells is that they don't go over your regular sock like the Gore-Tex Rocky.

One other review of these socks. (http://hiconsumption.com/2014/09/best-waterproof-socks/)

I used them for some very wet winter training & races here in the UK. I'd previously tried Sealskinz waterproof socks, and had them leak and cause bad blisters.

So far really impressed with the Dexshell. I wore thin liner toe-socks underneath, and despite running for hours through wet bog & icy slush, my feet stayed dry and warm :) A training partner who wore warm merino socks instead ended up getting frostnip and his feet took weeks to go back to normal :(

However I don't know how sturdy they are for long-term use. e.g., a thruhike. They need hand-washing for example - machine washing can cause the waterproof lining to tear. Given how expensive the socks are, I'm planning on keeping mine in reserve for rare days when I know the ground will be continuously wet and cold.
