Corn for everything except Pnut butter.....

Recent discovery: I have a bag of Mission Tostadas (fried corn tortillas) hanging around the kitchen that need to be eaten. I took one out and proceeded to slather on Trader Joe's Crunchy Almond Butter and Boysenberry preserves. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!! The salty crunch of the tostada went well the almond butter and sweet boysenberries. Too bad the tostadas wouldn't last long in a backpack.

I agree. Even Fresh ones don't seem to be as plyable as flour.

I have been on a homemade tortillas bender for about 3 months using Masa Harina from Bobs Redmill and anther brand I got on-line.

Not sure if they really are much better than the fresh ones In the stores -- around here Maria's is a good brand -- but I have convinced myself they are. The whole nixtimalization process, nutritional impact and history was new to me and fascinating.

Chicken tortillas in my hose are always flour tortillas with a green poblano and tomateo Verde type sauce...damn, now I'm hungry.

I'd take flour tortillas on the trail, they are more pliable and don't dry out as quick as the corn does.

Not a fan of corn tortillas without chili or tamale-like stuff.

Take corn tortillas once and that will be your last. They just don't pack well.

Thanks for the tip. I figured that might be the case. I do like the taste.
