These are the closest I've seen. You can find some reviews of them on YouTube also. http://www.vargooutdoors.com/backpacks.html

Another possibility might be Paradox Packs -- http://paradoxpacks.com/design/

Zpacks Arc Blast is external frame, and around 17 ounces.

Osprey Exos is also technically an external frame pack, although the outside mesh goes around the entire frame.

...but I have a feeling you're talking about big, bulky, tubing of some sort when you walk about external frame packs which these might not fit under for you.

There's also LuxuryLite. They've been around a while. No personal experience to offer. http://www.luxurylite.com/stackpackindex.html

I can comment on Paradox packs, I have an Unaweep. Its aluminum framed and it weighs less than 3 pounds. Most comfortable pack I've ever used. Mine is an earlier version that was made of cuben fiber hybrid that they no longer carry. The 4800 is rated for 63 liters and 100 lbs or so. The 3900 is probably what I would use for summer hiking. There's enough options now to make it very customize-able and modular. If you have some special requirement, give them a call and they can accomodate you for a small fee. Customer service has been awesome.

Since there is no official definition of " ultralight" as it applies to packs, all could be called that.

But, i generally recognize a convention used by UL hikers, that UL packs are about 23 oz and under, lightwt are 24-48. Over 48 is normal heavier gear.

Based on that, there is really only one framed UL pack of any kind , its the zpacks arc blast. The SMD Ohm used to be UL too, before they added a heavy belt. Also the GG Mariposa /gorilla before they beefed its weight up too.

But, just my opinion.
