Have a Mountain Hardware Sprite 1 tent pole with a broken connector that needs to be replaced. Other than sending it back to Mountain Hardware, anyone have experience with repair services from other companies and recommendations? I would rather send it out for repair than do it myself.

I'd bet the only way it can be "fixed" is by it being replaced and it can only be replaced by the manufacture.

Cabela's used to sell a "tent repair kit", and you could replace broken connecting-ferrules, fix broken sections with an over-sized "sleeve", etc. Maybe this would work for you.

Try Quest, they may have the parts you need.

Just a quick update to this thread --

As far as tentpole repair services there is the company TentPole Technologies -- http://tentpoletechnologies.com/.

I posted this thread on a weekend and had to wait for Monday morning to be able to call anyone. Mountain Hardware's warranty department was the first place I called. And after a quick conversation about the pole's assembly we figured it would be easiest for me to do it myself. Two days later a package arrived with the replacement part plus many extras should they ever be needed. It took 10 minutes to disassemble the pole, replace the broken connector and reassemble the pole.

I had a Mt Hardwear tent pole snap on a trip (and fixed in the field) and they sent me a new one for free. Give them a try first. Why not?
