So I've been considering getting a 1-trekking-pole tent and I just ran across these two:

2lbs 1oz for the 1 person, 2lb 10oz for the two person.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Funny, looks just like the "Tarp Tent Contrail" less the ridiculous rain fly set up.

Go with the TarpTent ProTrail. Same basic tent, $70 cheaper, and a few ounces lighter.

I don't know if you've seen this video yet. But here is the two person version.

I'm looking at the ProTrail too. I just happen to have a gift card that i can use on this one and not on the ProTrail.

I got the impression that the Nitro was taller for sitting up in, and had a bigger vestibule.

The Nitro has 1" additional head room but is narrower than the ProTrail. I can't find a vestibule size for the ProTrail but they look to be very close to the same size (which is not all that big on either one).

Personally I would take the easier setup of the ProTrail over the Nitro but the gift card does make that a harder decision.

The 1 reminds me a lot of the Luxe X Rocket, a tent designed I tinkered with (changes from the original Rocket to the X version)

Going by the Marmot figures, the 1 has 1 extra inch of height however the wall slopes at a steeper angle than it does on the Pro Trail :

However the Nitro is a double wall shelter , the Pro Trail is single wall .

I've seen this tent under $200 fwiw.

I wasn't really stoked about how they designed the rear entry, vestibule size and general livability. On the other hand this looks like it might be a good minimalist shelter for a smaller hiker.

I have a TT Contrail same dimensions as Protrail. The Protrail is actually a 1 1/2 person tent. I can fit me and all my gear easily in the tent, pack under the foot of my bag and I line up my gear stuff sack down one side. The Marmot design looks inherently flawed by having the rain fly in direct contact with the sil nylon inner. A recipe for diaster with sil nylon. In addition, it does not look like much if any vestibule...
