Thanks for the link. That may be worth a try and I know a kid who can use a stove.

I picked up one of these stoves -- BRS 3000T -- from an EBay vendor for $10 something plus shipping with the total coming to $16.18.

Also picked up a nice anodized aluminum cookpot and lid pan with a 32oz capacity and 8oz for $11.

As far as the stove though, it is really a well made and light weight stove. The production quality is quite good. Was 0.9 oz.

Ok! Y'all may have shown me the light. A stove weight on par with kitty litter stoves and burns BTU rich fuel.
This could work and take 3/4 pound out of my summer pack.
Thanks!
Has anyone compared boil times with a mainstream stove like Snow Peak or MSR?

I was putting together a cook kit for a kid, and I have been searching for inexpensive and quality pieces. Slap some other company's name on the box and this would be a $30 cook kit. As a no name Chinese made kit it is a steal at $11. Its actual weight is 8.4 oz with the pot at 5.1 and the lid at 3.3 oz. The pot easily is a 32 fl oz capacity, though I filled it to the rim with 5 cups. The lid is about 2.5 inches deep and a capacity to the rim of 16 fl oz.

I just picked up one of these and it's pretty nice. Light, sturdy, and works well. Did a pretty sad review of it here:

Not a bad stove folds up nice and does a good job.

It's a good stove. Like any backpacking stove though it will have limitations. Wind and fuel efficiency, plus CO output are issues to keep in mind. Not 100% but I believe this is the stove that's used in the Jetboil Ti mod, if so it's been pretty popular among the serious UL'ers.
