Hi,
We're planning on doing a 3 day trip ending at the Inn @ Long Trail (near Rt 4 crossing point)

Originally I was thinking something like SOBO Lincoln Gap to Rt 4 (part of div 7 and div 6) but the guide talks about logging etc and made it sound like not the most appealing division. So I was wondering if going NOBO from Big Branch to Rt 4 would be nicer.
Sure there's no such thing as better or worse parts of the trail... but just wondering if anyone has a favourite out of the two to help with the choice!

Thanks! :sun

Hey, it's all good and appealing! I don't recall any section that wasn't.

The first couple of days north of the Inn were not great trail, IMHO.

Start three days south and hike north to the Inn. Nice section.

Thanks for the advice! I think this is what we will do!

Even better if you can arrange to finish on a night they have live music, and stay there for the night. The Inn is a terrific place.

Well, assuming you like Irish bars, draught Guinness, local craft beer, and great pub food, then yeah, I guess it is pretty decent. :) Say hi to Owen the bartender for us if he's there (Big Cranky and Dragonfly, LT '14).

Haha, who doesn't! I'm already looking forward to a post-trail Guinness!
We'll pass on your hellos :-)

Another note: Lincoln Gap Road is under construction. Last weekend couldn't get to the trailhead from the east or west. It still might be an issue. Better to go northbound.

Thanks for the info... sounds like that puts a final nail in the southbound coffin! We're hitting the trail mid-August.. can't wait!
