Free standing tent or TT thru CT, Mass and VT?

I see a lot of tent pads on Rowlands AT picture website. I have a BA Fly Creek as well as a Henry Shires TT. Which would be more useful thru this section up to Bennington VT?

In CT I recall tent platforms at Limestone Spring (and I had a non-freestanding tent so I pitched next to it without problems) and a couple but not all sites at at Sages Ravine were platforms. So here at least nothing that would force you to take the BA.me

We used a non-freestanding tent through all of Vermont. Didn't have to pitch on a platform even one night, though I brought a couple of tiny eyehooks just in case.
