Just wondering, how many beers does it take to cook a 15lb turkey?

12 pack at least. Long neck PBRs.
5 friends, 1 keg, and a designated driver to go to Winn Dixie to pick up the whole precooked dinner....hehehe

You must consider the "cooking factor" Exactly how many people will be participating in the cooking? How will the bird be prepared? If frying you need about 1 beer per person per pound. If cooking in the oven, double that. If grilling or smoking you can easily triple or quadruple the amount of beer required. Now, we have not yet added the "football factor" to this equation. If watching football during preparation, then double all the numbers above.
I think if a fifteen pound turkey drank more than one or two beers, he would be cooked enough. This 190 pound turkey would need at least an eighteen pack, possibly a case.

Hey, if you're going to take the time to cook a big bird, you've got to go with better beer than Pabst Blue Ribbon!!! I'm a size medium and no longer as alcohol-tolerant in my old age, so a 6-pack of Bells Best Brown Ale (brewed in Kalamazoo, Michigan) might be sufficient for me. If my wife is in the kitchen at the same time then I might need a few more!

update,
2:53 pm, been cooking said bird since 9 am. have had 5 beers from a saranac sampler, and it looks like the desired effect ( uh i mean tenderness ) will be achieved somewhere around 10 beers. or maybe 11 or 12.

Y'all are forgetin' the Theory of Relativity at holiday time. The more relatives present, the more beer required for time to pass normally. If there are more than 10 relatives present, beer may no longer be sufficient. Replace with singe malt scotch. Keep in mind that this is only what is required for time to pass normally. Bird cooking time is not factored in. Now, the number of relatives bringing green bean casserole has a direct affect on the passage of time, especially if each one demands you sample and judge which is better. In this case I usually find the theory of Special Relativity useful. That is to claim they are all special in their own right, retreat out back with a 12 pack, bottle of single malt, and a couple of stogies and watch football (none of the green bean casserole making relatives can stand either football or stogies.)
Just get drunk and cook the darn turkey would ya?
I did not know Bears could cook. OH, BEERS!!!!!:datz Do beers eat turkey?
couldn't keep it lit, though.
I tried to smoke a turkey, but couldn't keep it lit.
At last, after all that fake humor/goat crap, a truly funny comment on White Blaze.

i've got the answer. 12 beers before the "Theory of Relativity" took effect. after that, at least 3 bottles of home made wine and and some undetermined ammount of kill me quick (memory's a little fuzzy still at this point). if you baste yourself every time you baste the bird you come out done about the same time.
