sweet......

question though----that piece of metal at false gap----where was it in relationship to the spring? as in, was it right where the water comes outta the ground/pipe?

i dont recall it being up there when i was there about 6 or 7 years ago, and dont think its a piece of a plane unless someone has transported it from somewhere else..

glad you're getting out though, patman......

tnhiker, hey thanks

that metal was about 3 tenths of a mile down from the spring, pretty steep decent and not visible from the spring head..i was following the sound of a cascade when I came upon it; it was fascinating to go down there as the entire valley is a large drainage of hidden rivulets under rocks and soil (you can hear the water flowing under your feet but can't see it for some long sections) they start coalescing into False Gap prong within about 2 tenths I'd say

the cascade turned out to be too difficult to reach but that metal was curious...in the video I lifted it up for perspective (at about :52)

ok...

i didnt go that far down the spring then...

i just drew my water from right near where it came outta ground...

and of course, i havent watched the video to see you holding it up...

my other theory (again, without watching video yet)----is that maybe its piece of from the old shelter....

ill watch video

ok...

watched the video up to the metal part....

lot bigger than how it looks in the photo (hey, now)......

here's my other theory-----kinda looks like a piece of duct work or something similiar..........almost like a fan hood....

maybe a piece of debris from a tornado..........

ive seen other building materials in some of the higher reaches of our area that is from tornadoes.............
