The book is done and here http://forums.backpacker.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif

First version is live and ready. It is what is called "perfect bound", paperback style. We will be offering a ring binding hopefully tommorow.

We are using Lulu to produce on demand. I recieved my copy today-and was very impressed with their shipping. I recomend using Priority Mail as your choice. Even with the holiday this week we had it in 6 days.

We will be ordering a number of copies wholesale this next week for those who want one autographed. If anyone wants one of those, drop me an email, and I will be handling the sales of those via my Paypal account. They will be about a $1 more due to the extra shipping cost.

I hope everyone enjoys our work.

:)

I ordered yesterday. I wrote Lulu to change my order to the ring version.

BTW. They list your publisher as the author of the "ring" version. You are listed as the author of the regular version.

P.S. Have you ever come across a good recipe for Mount Logan Bread?

The best I have found so far was at http://www.allrecipes.com/

You have to register for this site to get recipe. It allows for quantity changes and different print out formats.

I hope you enjoy the book!

Thanks Sarbar! I've been freezer bag cooking for over a year now, & am really pleased w/ the quickness, ease, & great taste by FBC. Sarbar, is the book similar to your website, freezerbagcooking.com, or is there more recipes in the book?

It is a complement to the site-the majority of the recipes in the book are new, and not on the site :)

Sarbar,

Does your book have something for vegetarians?

Thanks,

Yes it has a fair smattering of recipes, some of which are marked. Also, quite a few can be changed by subbing veggie boullion for any type called, and using TVP for any meat called ( especially in recipes calling for dried hamburger, TVP works great) :) I am a big user of soy milk powder, and we recomend that in the book for most times when milk is called.
(I am not a big meat eater). I also have a nice section on the website just for veggies.

You can't change your mind.....

I did not know about the ring binder and ordered the book. When I found out there was a ring version, I tried to change the order the next day.

All seems computerized and there is no turning back.. So be careful when you order....:(

This is the message:

"Dear Customer,
I am sorry but because we have a no-touch completely automated system we are unable to change the content that is ordered once an order has started fulfilling. The order will print the version of the content that was available at the time of the order. I am sorry but we will not be able to accommodate your request.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions. "

Well, I guess a "no touch completely automated system" is our way of life.:datz

Hey Clark, I am sorry to hear about that!!

But..I might be able to help you-if you really want a ring binding, I do have some that I ordered wholesale (as I am selling a number of them personalized) so, if you want you could mail me your copy, and I could switch it out for a ring binding ;)
Drop me a PM after you get your copy if you are intrested.

I have been on a few 4-5 day backpacking trips and food has been the #1 area that I need to improve, due to all the reasons listed. My copy is on the way and I can't wait to start trying the recipes. The idea of not having to wash dishes is even more appealing!:clap

I am waiting for the day when I hear someone say "Man, I LOVE doing dishes with ice cold stream water" :D
