I just rec'd my copy of Yogi's new PCT Handbook. It is excellent. It is very well thought out and put together in the order and fashion that a thru-hiker needs.

She did not base the entire book on her opinions alone, she offers up the opinions of numerous other thru-hikers as well (many are also member here on WB). This allows the planning hiker to hear different ideas and thoughts, much like our forums.

She even added pictures of a few friendly faces here and there.

The book is in a 3-ring binder. The book is in 2 sections pre-hike and hike. The second half she shrunk down and even included 2 rings to hold it together when out on the trail. Now you can take the pages you need and not need to tear the book to pieces.

This is a great book to look at and read even if you aren't planning a PCT hike. (But I bet you'll get the itch after looking at it!)

Hat's of to YOGI!!:clap http://www.cupcakewalk.com/yogi/index.html

Sue/HH:

I had no idea the PCT Guide would be helpful planning a hike along the Florida Trail.

What you got up your sleeve Sister?

Well it has not been openly discussed with the hubby yet... though hints are lying all around the house...

I would like to possible get my butt on the PCT in 2007, nothing concrete yet :p . You know how that goes. I have already got a partner, I hiked a little on the trail when I was out in Washington last month, I have Weathercarrots DVD, Yogi's guidebook, have read numerous PCT journals.... I think I've been biten by the PCT bug.

I maybe hiking the FL Trail this winter but my thoughts are already out west. I just have to gently bring the idea around to my husband. He's a good man but I'm pushing this gone 3-5 months out of every year a bit far. I would never hike it if it would breach my marriage, HE is much more important. However, IF I can have my cake and eat it too...;)
