Wish I could join you, but this year, my hiking season ends in October.

However, if I could join you, I'd ask you to be more specific.
When you say 'big creek', I'm not sure if you mean the campsite or the trail. If you only mean the campsite, there are at least three ways to go from Big Creek --> Laural Gap. There are then three ways to get from Laural Gap --> Cosby, and then two ways back.

If you were referring to the trail, I would suggest that rather than finishing with Big Creek Trail that you instead complete your circle via Chestnut Branch so that you can make the side trip to Mount Cammerer.

I am doing the Baxter creek trail to mt sterling then over to laurel gap.
Then up the balsam mt trail and AT to Cosby. along AT and down to start point via chestnut branch trail.
Have to get one hike in the smokies every autumn. I would rather finish at maddron bald trail to stay at site 29 but it is a shuttle.

I second the recommendation to include Mt Cammerer if you can. It's a beauty!
