Hi,

Myself, wife, sister-n-law and bro in-law want to do a day hike, camp, hike back type trip in the Shenandoah. Would appreciate advice, opinions on a good scenic day hike, camp spot. The girls are not experienced, but myself and bro in-law experienced.

As long as there is good scenery the girls will be happy. I've driven through the valley, but never camped there.

Thanks!

Start at Old Rag parking one evening, hike 3 miles (I think) to where the fire road and Corbin Cabin trail intersect. Camp at site on left across from stream. Get up at 4 AM, hike to the summit of Old Rag and down the Ridge Trail. Hit a restaurant in town for breakfast and beer.
