Hey there everyone, my thru-hike was a success! Although technically I guess it would be called a "yo-yo".

Left Journey's End on July 27th, reached Mass on August 16th,
came back to Journey's End on August 8th!

Wonderful trip, thank you to everyone I met!

Couple quick notes---

Had to switch out my 50 degree bag for a 20 degree bag a couple weeks in --- the new bag made my entire trip so much better. Cooked with the fancy feast stove the whole time (when I wasn't cooking over a fire), worked like a charm.

I admit that bringing a compass was almost entirely pointless, I don't think you would need it in the nicer months.

Also, the trip was just fine without the End-to-Enders guide or Long Trail guide. = ) The map is more than enough. However, I did look in on other's books once or twice, and the town maps in the E2E guide are useful.

No, I did not need a 4-season underquilt for my hammock. The ridgerest and 20 degree bag were plenty.

Thanks again to everyone who helped me, and those who helped me prepare on whiteblaze.net!

Congratulations! It's a gnarly-a$$ed trail, for sure. At least the northern half.

Congrats! The Yo-Yo makes it all the sweeter!

One of my favorite hiking trails in the world... Someday, I wouldn't mind retiring up in Vermont.

What's the next adventure?

Congratulations. My husband and I started the LT in June and only completed 132 miles in 22 days. It was cold, muddy, and difficult. We returned to Florida to attend a conference. We we got back to VT, he completed the hike while I went to help our daughter move. Nineteen days later he arrived at the Northern Terminus. Not exactly blazing speeds, but he completed the trails.

Thanks everyone! @The Phoenix, not sure. The LT was originally a test run for the AT. Although after experiencing 200 miles of the AT, I feel like I would have to hike it in the off-season to find peace there. But should be fun either way!! I'm sure I'l be late-nighting whiteblaze.net again if I start making plans for the AT.

Awesome job and congratulations! Now you are the newest source of information for all the rest of us who "plan" on doing the trail!
