My wife is a teacher in Fairfax County (here in Northern VA) and sent me this this morning. I thought it was a cool idea and other hear might find it interesting. Not quite hiking but a good way to promote exercise.

I should note it is for FCPS employees only.
Hopefully, the idea is to ultimately actually inspire to move towards greater physical fitness and actually enjoy Nature IN PERSON - IN REALITY - rather than through cyber space while sitting stationary playing what amounts to an adult competitive team video game approach. Hopefully, it will be a door opener into reality.
