On normal year what is most popular week to leave from Springer on thru hike?

Every week from March 1st to May 1st. The first week of March and first week of April are real popular.
the kick off event at amicalola has become the most dense start time
March 15 through March 21.
Every year a large number of hikers leave around the 1st or 15th of March or April, and every year a large number leave around the 1st day of Spring which is usually March 20.

I'm sure we have statistics on this but I'm betting April 1 is the most popular day. The most popular week? Harder to say as calendars change year to year. Id wager late March early April tho

Laurie at ATC put together a bar chart of start dates for the years 2010-2014 based on info from the 2000 miler applications that ATC gets. It has thousands of data points. It is in post #35 in this thread:

The two busiest times look to be the nine day window from March 30 through April 7 and the nine day period from March 12 to March 20. As takethisbread surmised the single busiest day is April 1.
