I was thinking about a 6x8 tarp for ground sheet, afternoon naps, covering the bicycle, etc But then I thought a poncho adds that I could wear it as a poncho. So were do I go for good poncho. Any experience. I'll still bring a rain jacket.
Thanks!

It's a bit pricey, but I love my Sea to Summit poncho/tarp and I DO NOT also take a rain jacket. I don't want or need the extra weight and the poncho works very well as long as you accept that your lower legs and arms are going to still get wet. Of course, you can always wear rain chaps and/or rain sleeves to stay even more dry.

I went through the tarp/poncho experiment for awhile. Went through the Smokies in think in 8 days, 7 of which it rained with really extreme winds in late Oct. That ended the experiment. Give me my Frogg Toggs anyday.
