Made it out for an overnight hike. Started at Pinky Burns and went to Co. Rd. 94 / Ladiga Campground. Weather was warm for this time of year low overnight mid 50s. Left Burns about 9:30a and arrived at Dugger shelter by 2:00p. Started about 7:30a the next morning arriving at 94 by 12:30p. Passed 7 other hikers between Burns and 500 saw a few deer. There were several trees down along the way, but the trail was well Blazed and also marked with stack rock. Below are a few pics.

When you see this heading North, you just came up an aggressive incline!

Is there a meaning behind the stacked rocks? I have seen stacks like that on the AT.

It is a way of marking the trail usually where it changes directions and there are no trees for a blaze

This could also be the new norm since blazes in the Wilderness areas have been outlawed all together: http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/showthread.php/109755-Blazes-removed-from*Dugger-Mountain-and-Cheaha-Wilderness*

Looks like you hung your hammock in the exact same place I hang mine at the Dugger Shelter.

Sorry to jack this thread but where did you find the elevation profile map?
I ran across it sometime back and printed it but for some reason did not save it.
Thanks
