REI had an ultra light Dash 2 Tent at 50% off today, so I placed an order but now I have some doubts about the rain fly. It has this irregular shape at the bottom and I wonder if it will give adequate protection to my pack and boots (that I like to leave in a vestibule) in bad weather? Can anyone who has this tent comment on how it is holding up in rain?

I wouldnt term it "vestibule" at all.
But there is probably enough room inside for solo hikers gear
And if gear is already wet.....what does it really matter if its not perfectly protected.
Im guilty of using my pack to shield me from heavy rain under a tarp, and just hiking with wet pack the next day.

Thanks for the link - the space looks pretty tight with two mattresses inside. I'm basically debating myself whether to get the newer version of quarter dome instead that I think is about half a pound heavier. It would also cost $130 more since it is not on sale.
