Does anyone happen to know when the 2006 data book, and 2006 thru-hikers companion will be out. It seems like I have looked all over the internet and cant seem to find any info on the new editions? THanks

The same answer that you'll get at the outfitter: "sometime in January."
At least that's what they've told me for the last coupla years. Just gives you an excuse to go down and look at the new '06 gear every weekend until they arrive.

The Databook might go sale at www.atctrailstore.org (http://www.atctrailstore.org) before the end of the year. The Companion left ALDHA hands weeks ago, and mid-January is as good a guess as any when it'll be out. Watch the ATC site at www.appalachiantrail.org (http://www.appalachiantrail.org), the ALDHA site at www.aldha.org (http://www.aldha.org), Whiteblaze and the at-l for announcements. As soon as the online edition is up, and the hard copy becomes available, information will be posted. Windex was on the cover of the '05 Companion, I wonder what the cover will be this year?
The 2006 AT data book is out! I ordered mine through the ATC website and it just arrived to day 12-30-05.
So surely...anyone who wants one can get one now.
