Not sure how many east coast Canadians we have on here , I bet there are a few! A good friend and myself are going to hike the Chignecto Trail this coming summer, will be a short shake down hike for the LT. Anyone one here ever hiked it!

Cape Chignecto is a good destination. We did a 5-day loop in July 2013 and encountered only a half-dozen hikers.

There are great seaside views and several beaches. The tides are huge and so watching the ocean is always interesting. From the cliffs on the west shore there are sunset views. Read up on the geology before you go--the area is unique. There are a few cabins on whose porch you can sit on a rainy day. Trails are well maintained.

Downside: mosquitos. It can also be foggy and rainy. (It's probably not that different than the LT.)
