I've seen online some photos of a small cabin on a pond near the peak of mt Greylock in ma, has anyone ever stayed there, or can you even stay there? How do you get there and is there anything in the cabin.

It's not a cabin, more a tiny derelict structure that you wouldn't want to stay in.

Years back I walked over and took a look inside. Octothor is right. As I recall dumpy uneven structure. Surprised it's still standing.

That's what I think it is. The pipe coming out of it heads towards the lodge.

don't forget about the thunderbolt shelter. not at the top of greylock, but very close

Yes, it's the former pump house. Not for use by the public. Only overnight facility at the summit is Bascom Lodge, open seasonally. Fee, no work for stay. The two closest AT overnight sites are a bout 4 miles N or S--easy hikes to either.
