View Full Version : 2016 NOBO, looking for mid/late March start
Hey all, I'm looking to begin my thru in mid/late March. I'm coming from nyc so will likely be flying in. I just graduated college, and have been waiting for this time window. If anyone else is starting near then let me know, and maybe we could start the journey together.
You will have a lot of company on the trail at that time. I hope it's a great journey for you! Enjoy!!

I'm starting on the 28th or 29th. At Springer. Later than I wanted but the guy I used to work with want to go four or five days with me so a later than expected start date. No worries here.

Hey, I'm planning to start my thru in late March, as well. I'm coming from up/midstate NY (Otsego County, if you know where that is). I'm taking a bus down the 20th, planning on staying at the Hiker Hostel the night of the 21st and then starting March 22nd.

Are you planning on doing the approach trail?

Pilgrim here, leaving CT on the 11th. Starting on March 15th.
I am not planning on doing the approach trail and just backtracking from the forest service road. I'll be doing a bunch of blue blazing so I don't see the importance of doing a trail that isn't part of official Appalachian Trail and adding a day of food to carry to Neel's Gap.

Hey hey, I've made plans to head out the 16th after staying in a hotel in Gainesville the night before. If you're interesting in leaving mid-March I'm definitely looking for someone to start this adventure with... And my parents are hoping I will as well (:

I'll be leaving from Amicalola on March 17th and heading to Springer via the Approach Trail. I'm be driving up the day before from my sister-in-law's who lives outside of Atlanta. If anyone is desparate for a ride to Amicalola, let me know.
Jcfjr, I know where Otsego County and Unadilla are! I went SUNY Oneonta and my family has a camp on Goodyear Lake. Hope to meet you on the trail.
