My brother and I are doing section hike from Amicola falls starting Monday February 29 the ending on March 6th.

Now - What are places to stay in the area.

I know there is a lodge close to the start. I looked at availability there and price is a bit steep from my perspective.
And ?????

Also need place to park car.

How about the shelter behind the Visitor Center?

Hiker Hostel in Dahlonega, GA provides stellar service to that whole area. I've kept my car there for a few days in the past, although I did use their hostel and shuttle service at the beginning and end of my section.

As far a parking goes there is a long term parking area at the trail head at Amicalola Falls. I've never had any problems while parked there.

Elijay and Blue Ridge are the closest towns.

Stay at the Amicola camp ground at the top of the mountain , you can eat at the lodge ,dinner and breakfast. G et your direction from the lodge and follow the blue blazes to the AT. There is power and tables at each site. You need to check with the rangers on parking. Your camping anyways. There is picnic shealter located there if weather is bad . I set my free standing tent up in there one year with permission and kept all my gear stayed dry. Just a suggestion. .

If coming to Amicalola from the west, Ellijay is closest as GA SR 52 passes through town. Crossroads Cafe, a block off the square for great food, and many other restaurants, including the salad/hot bar at Ingles Supermarket are available. Coming from south (Atlanta) Dawsonville is closest town, with most restaurants now on 4-lane GA SR 400@ SR 53 area. Dahlonega, south of Hiker Hostel is east, but Blue Ridge is way north.

Hiker Hostel has shuttles, but for others, the protected parking of Amicalola, as a state park with staff has a value. Further up the trail, north/east of Blood Mountain, is Vogel State Park, which also allows parking. The remote trail crossings at FS roads aren't always theft and vandal proof places to leave a vehicle.
