Section hiking

Hello All: As time and work permit a buddy and myself are section hiking some of the Southern AT. We started at Springer back on Jan 8-9, 2016. Drove in the night of the 8th and went to the terminus at Springer returning by the car and spent the night at the Stover Creek Shelter. Worked our way to the Gooch Mountain Shelter Jan 9 and did the hike to Neels Gap on the 10th. We hope to do the Neels Gap to Dicks Creek Gap later this month Feb 2016. How does this section compare to the initial section we did back in January? Thx in advance. John...

I would say that the trail gets a little tougher after Unicoi gap(approx. 20 miles past Neels). You have three sizable climbs from there to Dicks Creek that are tougher than Blood Mtn NOBO.
