View Full Version : Seam seal tent?

I have a new Sierra Designs Flashlight 1 tent I'll be using on the AT coming up. The tent seams are seam taped. Question....is it a good idea to seam seal over the seam tape, or is the seam tape from the factory good enough? I've heard it both ways, and would like some experienced opinions on this. Thanks.

If there's tape on the seams I have never bothered and never had a tent leak because of it.

+1 on tape is fine. Actually, tape is more durable the seam sealer and 100% effective unless is starts to come loose, in which case, a little dilute seam seal can glue it back in place.

Seam taping is awesome. You're good!
