Hot Springs long term parking

Good morning all,

In mid April, I am planning a two week walk from Winding Stair Gap to Hot Springs. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to park for the two weeks in Hot Springs as well as a shuttle service that would take me from Hot Springs to Winding Stair Gap. I plan on continuing after a break in Hot Spring.

Laughing Heart Hostel is prolly your best bet. There is a trail head behind the hostel that would be less monitored but free

Give Bluff Mountain Outfitters in Hot Springs a call. 828-622-7162. They'll be able to advise you as to what all your options are as far as parking and a shuttle.

Two different times I have parked for two weeks at the AT trailhead 50 yards from Laughing Heart Hostel in Hot Springs. No problems either time. Last year I did a section hike very similar to yours and had good luck using Ron McGaha to shuttle me. the town has public parking lot across the street from outfitter , behind the restaurants. Last year I parked for free for a week no problems.

Any other free places to park safely?

I would be be leaving the jeep for about 2 weeks..

I parked in the lot behind the restaurants, marked "Public Parking" for about 3 weeks in October. No problems at all.
