My brother is hiking with me this weekend to start the AT. He would like to park his car at Amicalola and hike to Cooper Gap or Gooch Gap and hitch back. Does anyone have any family starting with them this weekend that might be able to help him out? Anyone doing something similar? As I recall there was plenty of traffic to Gooch Gap but I can't imagine too many people going to Amicalola on Sunday evening. It might be better to leave the vehicle somewhere in Dahlonega, get a ride to Amicalola, and then hitch from Cooper or Gooch to Dahlonega.
