After reading numerous posts recommending ATC maps over Nat Geo maps for the Appalachian Trail, I am looking for a place to buy the ATC maps. The places I have found, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Outdoor.org and Amazon all say they have the ATC maps, but then show the Nat Geo map and reference it in their description. I guess I am looking in the wrong place. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for the quick reply ki0eh. The web site you listed was the first place I looked for the ATC maps. It shows a Nat Geo map in the graphic and the description reads:

"Includes four five-color topographic maps on two sheets, with elevation profiles (scale, 1:63,360), plus the five-color topographic map of the park (scale, 1:62,500) published by National Geographic Trails Illustrated. 288 pages."

So it looks like this is the Nat Geo map others have said not to use. Am I missing something? By the way, I am just looking for the North Carolina - Georgia maps at this time.

Click through to all the pages on that link. There are pages and pages of non Nat Geo maps including a box set of them all.
