For any who are interested I have now spent equal time in both of these hammocks. I feel BOTH are well made and can endure heavy winds and rain. I did use a ThermARest Pad and Down sleeping bag as padding with both. But found with the second liner in the Siam it was easier to keep in place. I love my Hennessy but think I will hang my tarp up separately from now on. The Hennessy would be Purrfect >^,,^< if only it had a second liner to place pads inside, and a zipper on the netting. This is JMHO of course. I tend to feel trapped and at times would LOVE to unzip and get some fresh air, or simply reach under and grab something out of my pack. The Siam would be Purrfect >^,,^< if it had zippers on BOTH sides of the netting instead of just one...and I wish the Rain poncho/Tarp was slightly larger. Yet it would drag on the ground if worn as the poncho...so? I had heard the small rods or poles on the end of this hammock, always came apart. Well with lots of tossing and turning due to too much rock climbing (pain) uggh ...they held together for me, and I toss a lot. I will use the Hennessy for Summer and the Siam for winter. Still searching for the perfect one for me and would love to try the Clark (http://www.junglehammock.com/) TreeBoat Hugger (http://www.newtribe.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=35) and the Mosquito Hammock (http://www.mosquitohammock.com/) one next. Now on to ebay to hope to find one cheaper :)

I had not been aware of the Siam hammock. It is unfortunate that the website does not have any good photos of the hammock. Do you have any you can post, or that you know of on the web?

HI gdwelker

There use to be a USA Siam site that had wonderful pictures up but at the moment it seems only the main site at this addy
http://www.siamhammock.com/

I got a new digital camera...guess I had better learn how to use it and take some hammock pictures. I will try over the weekend or next camping trip for sure.
Life happens...and my Mom is in the hospital at the moment.
But...I will take pics later :)

Keep a eye on ebay the Siam Hammock comes around once in awhile there very cheap...well under $75 usually :p

HI Neo
I like that one too and think I made a mistake and gave my large cammo tarp to my son for his hammock. :(

You had shared a link once, a supply place I think it was like for $30
I just may have to get another one.

Hana,

Great pics. I hadn't heard of the Siam until you posted. Are you still liking it about the same as your Hennessy? It looks a bit more complicated. How do the weights compare?

Hi Patrick,
I like the Siam as much as the Hennessey...especially being able to open it up and reach under to get things... :) (zipper) oops sorry showing my lazy side!
I feel the Siam is warmer...the netting is finer and heavier and with the second liner or sleeve it seems better for me for the winter.
The Hennessy I love as much and find I like it more for summer or when I wish to hide in the forest :)

Since my Hennessy is the Explorer Deluxe verison...for me the weight is not a problem about the same...for those with the ultra light it would of course be more.
Hammock 2.5 lbs
Tarp/Rain Poncho .90

but hubby does not like to hang in the breeze...so the Siam makes a tent for us when he comes along :)
