Are tweezers the best thing to have to pick off ticks?....or is there another gadget that works better?????

Gadgets work pretty well for big ticks. The little ones tend to slip through the gadgets leaving very fine tipped tweezers as the best (and often only) option that works for both larger and tiny ticks. There are some super fine tip curved tweezers out there that look like they might be even nicer than straight fine-tipped tweezers for getting at those little blood suckers.

I like the Tick Key, you can get them at most camping stores.

I use an O'tom tick twister like the one in this Amazon Link (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0089BOK12/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1457888993&sr=8-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=otom+tick+twister&dpPl=1&dpID=41XF5rpzGJL&ref=plSrch) The smaller size one is my preferred method of dealing with deer ticks since it can slide in front of the tick body and around the head which reduces the chance of the head breaking off during removal.

Also keep in mind that when people say "tweezers" they specifically mean a tweezers with a pointy tip. Regular household tweezers aren't particularly good for getting ticks out and often crush the tick's body, which can increase the chance of infection by causing it to regurgitate stomach contents while still embedded.
