Is the winter / bad weather side trail open out of Lehigh gap? I saw a photo with the sign saying trail closed.

The winter trail was open when I was there a few weeks ago. The blue blaze trail to Palmerton was "open" as well but as soon as you got to the road the local bridge into town was gated shut (may only be a weekend problem). If you check out the link Allegheny refers to you can read up on it more. But basically the blue blaze side trail to Palmerton shares some of the same path as the winter trail but they are not one in the same if that helps.
