Cool. Besides if it is for Android, iOS or both, you listed Access to thousands of locations along your favorite trail, Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail, John Muir Trail and others.

Possible to know the other trails? (e.g. Colorado Trail for example?)

Yeah, the link above points to google play store and no iOS link. But, I should have been clear. Android only, for now. iOS is draconian and has other hoops to jump through, like development on OSX only.

If we have an online data book (http://www.postholer.com/databooks), it is included in the app. Journal updates are for any hike imaginable. But data books are dependent on availability. Pre-defined weather locations use on trail departure points for resupply locations. If there are no resupply locations for a trail, you can only get 'Where I am standing' point forecasts.

good to know about the availability. I'll be sure to link it as appropriate. Always good to know resources.

Downloaded and looks useful, but doesn't completely eliminate the need for a guide book as there is no town map or info, campsite locations other then shelters (AT) or water sources.

However, it does have many more locations noted than any other source, elevation profiles, climate data for every section and every month of the year, land cover data and geologic data.

While it may not have everything you want, it definitely has unique and useful information that others don't have. It's not a competition with or replacement for other resources.

Don't get me wrong, it's free and I know it was a lot of work to put together. We appreciate it and thank you for it.

I do like the "distance to next" so I don't have to do the mental math.

I have a small phone (3.75" diagonal screen) so the profile doesn't show up very well in normal portrait mode , but it's okay in landscape mode even though you can't expand it. At least it gives you kind of an idea of what's coming ahead.

One change I would make is to put all the "unique and useful information" at the bottom of the page instead at the top. While interesting, it's not needed much and you want the trail data to come up first since that's what your accessing all the time.

I also installed an off line topo and street map app, so between those and this trail data app, I should be in pretty good shape, but I'll likely carry the paper guide too.
