Aleight, so I have done the roam highlands, and reasons sections, and would like some advice on what to possibly do next. I don't have too much time each year, so 40-50 miles is prefered. I am living in northern ku, and can drive 6 hours or so. I loved grasons, and eoan highlands, absolutely beautiful. I was thinking about possibly the Virginia triple crown section, but wasn't sure how to get the best out of my limited time. Any advice? Thanks!

Sorry for all the typos, doing this on my phone. That is supposed to say northern Kentucky.

Shenandoah National Park should have its wildflowers blooming pretty nicely in May.

I think if you go to the triple crown area or south of that you may find it's quite busy. I've been researching section hikes for may and it seems the thru hiker crowd is anticipated to be a lot bigger this year

Some options I was looking at in VA were starting at rockfish gap and head south. It's 55 miles to US 60 if you wanted an out around 50 miles, and seems to have a lot of nice points along there. It's harder than some areas around there though

Or there's always shenandoah if you want waysides with resupply and burgers at multiple points. Less wilderness there, more convenience tradeoff

Thanks, hikingjim. Yeah, I was worried about the crowds, a bit. Shenandoah is definitely an option I will look into. I will look at the other route you suggested as well. I appreciate all the feedback.

Head south after trail days.

That isn't a bad idea. I have already done graysons, though. Man, I can't imagine how busy the trail is after trail days.

Trail days might actually help me out this year, I am planning on hiking 14-18.

Man, I really want to start at daleville, and go southbound to 624, I think it is. Only problem is some crazy mileage between shelters/campsites, and reliable water it looks like. Is there anywhere to camp near dragons tooth? I know you are only supposed to camp at official sites, but just wondering.

Typo, 620.

I decided on going from Harvey's knob overlook, south, to dragons tooth parking lot.
