I need some new gaiters for my trail runners. Currently I have some Dirty Girls and they are nice but not as durable as I hoped. Also I typically hike in pants so I like a little taller reach than the dirty girls give. Any suggestions on a pair?? I don't mind putting velcro on the back of my shoe, but most of the ones I looked at have larger straps under the insole. Not sure how those will work out with a trail runner since there is no heel gap.

I've had my eye on these for a while: https://www.altrarunning.com/trail-gaiters/altra-trail-gaiter but no personal experience yet. I guess i'm waiting for my dirty girls to die before I try them out. They "appear" to *maybe* have a little taller reach.

What about something like these from Outdoor Research: http://amazon.com/Outdoor-Research-Stamina-Gaiters-Medium/dp/B009Q28JBK/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1460995512&sr=8-15&keywords=outdoor+research+gaiters
When I don't use DGs, I use Integral Designs low eVent gaiters. Sewed some velcro patches on them so they attach like the DGs
Those are the two alternatives I like to DG.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The Altras look about the same height as the dirty girls based on that shot of the hairy leg. The OR ones might be an option. I checked the Integral Designs and found that they were bought by Rab. Seems Rab is discontinued the eVent ones and replaced them with a neoshell model. They seem to be lacking that toughened interior portion that Integral Designs had.
