To honor those who have given me trail magical beer when I was hiking in the past, I plan to bring a couple of 6 packs of beer to strategically place on the trail when I do my section hike this year. One 6-pack will be "Oatmeal Creme Pie" (aka OCP) by Pigeon Hill Brewery - a brewery owned by my son and located in Muskegon, Michigan. I am not sure if the 2nd 6-pack will be the same or possibly an IPA. Having opened just over two years ago, they began canning OCP in the last few months and plan to begin canning another type in June - just not sure if it will be before I head out!

If you want to do a little magic of your own, you can help his brewery win "Best Brewery in West Michigan" by voting for Pigeon Hill Brewery at this link: Vote here (http://www.wzzm13.com/features/best-brewery-in-west-michigan-top-four/190056680)

A great way to advertise your son's beer would be to strategically place these 6-packs all over the trail. Just make sure you alert all those hikers who are beer lovers and will dispose of the trash. I'm doing the Whites the first week in June, and if you want to place some up there, I'll make sure they disappear. Just let me know the locations. Your son might have to rename his product "Appalachian Delight," or something.

Leave a bottle opener with it.

LOL.... I can only carry so much each hike! Each 6-pack weighs 4.5 pounds. I had only planned to bring one up the mountain to stash under a rock in a stream within view of the trail; however, the guys made a big deal out of having a second beer by then for me to carry. Yikes! Imagine what they will have in a few years! But really, the OCP (Oatmeal Creme Pie) is out of this world! Our local Meijer store (similar to Walmart) sold out of a skid in 3 days....

Leave a bottle opener with it. It is a can! No opener needed! Please, recycle! (Canned to make it more "summer friendly")
