I read the ice axe thread, but how about spikes? I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to take these along, even mid-July and August... One person I talked to said that while there was snow/ice up there that late, they were always able to go around it...
What do y'all think?

I reached out to the people who did "Mile... Mile & A Half", because they hiked during a 200% snow year, and made mention of spikes in the movie.
I learned that they started their hike on July 11th, and never used the spikes. Their principal suggestions were water proof boots and sun glasses.
