Has anyone tried the Navionics Hiking App on the AT. If so can i get some reviews. What do you think?

Haven't used, but a buddy of mine works at Navionics (the fishing charts part).
He said trails and POI get loaded frequently.
For $0.99 (I think that's what it is for the "hike and bike" app) I don't think you could go that wrong.
Only issue I would have is that it's phone-based, so no signal, no app.

If your phone has a GPS receiver, it should continue to listen for the satellite signals regardless of your cellphone network service. Basically if you can see the sky and have a GPS chip as opposed to an AGPS styled phone, you will get reception.
