Registration for 2017 AT hike

I am planning a 2017 hike NOBO and tried to do the voluntary registration at the AT website but all dates are filled in as "NO". This includes all dates for SOBO and Flipflop. I tried filling the form with added comments but it would not allow me to do so. Does anyone have information about this? I understand the registration is voluntary. If they want hikers to provide information shouldn't they in return give feed back as to why you can't register other than "NO"?

Hi kizzybean,

Thanks for your willingness to register your thru-hike! The A.T. voluntary thru-hike registration is currently set up only to register thru-hikes for 2016. Please check back after about November 1 to register your 2017 thru-hike. Sorry for the confusion. We've tweaked the page to make this a little clearer.

If I am not mistaken the voluntary registration site opened up dates in early December or sometime there about.
