Anyone know where to find a titanium shot glass? Santa didn't bring me one and I don't know where else to turn to.

I don't bring a cup while hiking. Liter nalgene bottles, a pint old Gatorade plastic bottle (for dipping water out of streams), a collapsible plastic 1-gallon water jug, and my 1.3 liter cooking pot are about all I need for carrying liquids around. (I have yet to feel the need drink alcohol on the Trail, although I do drink wine and such a few times a year back home.)

It's not a cup BTW, being just 1/8 of a cup. In case you're confused, it'll be what everyone's drinking out of when you're around camp.

But I'll take a titanium jigger if you can find one.

Gator....Haven't you heard? Titanium is "out" of fashion in 2006. It has been replaced by unobtanium. Unobtanium is 83% lighter and 152% stronger than titanium. It cools from 800 deg C to room temp in 6.023 sec, does not impart a bad taste to food/drink and is biodegradeable.

We can even expect to see a resurgance of frame packs using double butted unobtanium tubing for the frames, zipper teeth, gromets, clevis pins/split rings and spreader bar.

The uses for unobtanium in ultra ultra light backpacking are endless. Order your stuff early.

I had a feeling that manufacturers were upgrading to unobtanium. It's been such a difficult item to find. Maybe if I hang out at Neel's Gap someone will drop one?

My current one keeps getting bent. Maybe I'll be a dinosaur and switch to SS. That's two steps back.

All my hiking undergarments are made of unobtanium! Keeps those gray cells working. It helped me to successfully complete my thru-hike.

Is that slant so that you know when you are done? I got a whole titanium cup for less than that one!

I was hoping for something non-glass, I guess I should say a titanium shot "glass".

mini bar set (http://www.uncommongoods.com/item/item.jsp?itemId=13703) & metal shot glass (http://www.thestationerystudio.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.viewProduct&productId=5994&utm_source=Froogle&utm_medium=productSubmit)

the bar set is stainless steel, but i'm not sure what the other one is made of.

That telescoping shot glass is cool. I found it separate with a clip here

I wonder how much it weighs?

bypass the shot glass and go for the direct injection from the nalgene

My hiking buddy uses a small mouth Nalgene. The top makes a decent shot glass. But
Nalgenes are heavy:D ! Both my flasks developed leaks, a cheap Coughlins and a GSI Lexan, so now I use a Platy. They are a little floppy though, so I like to have a shot glass.

I decided to go with this http://www.bewild.com/villagestreetwear/cokeshgl.html
the telescoping shot glass for $7.99. Interesting site, I ordered a few other goodies too:sun .

But I'm leaving it open here, if you find one in titanium, keep me posted!

no the slant is there so the glass will be level sitting on the side of a mtn.

even better! you can squeeze the platty for a faster injection.

I could just change out the bite valve with a needle and run it as a drip line:-? . The trail meanders so much through the woods, no one would notice me stumbling around.

Attention all, I just hear this through the gripe vine. Though most have not ever heard of unobtanium© it’s already making a move to its 2nd generation product line (mostly it’s just a color scheme.) After secret deliberations, in the tiny town of Billville (where ever the hell that is), on whether or not to release their new innovative color scheme, invisible, all lights are green for the year 2006. This amazing insight came after one-too-many far-sighted hikers complained that the unobtanium© was too light and thereby it was unnoticeable that some vital piece of gear was left behind on the front stoop of the shelter. Now with the new “invisible” color you don’t have to go racing 22 miles and 2 shelters back to retrieve that vital piece of gear before some weekend warrior comes prancing by and lifting it just minutes before you get there. Tobacco and medicinal herb smokers will be happy to hear that Uberhiker®, a leading manafacture of unobtanium© products, is producing an invisible smoking pipe, after great demand for such a thing, following a few incidence like the Officer Taco pipe throwing contest back in ’04. I have a feeling these guys are going to be all the rage at Trail Daze ’06. Though unobtanium© is a bit pricy remember Unobtanium is 83% lighter and 152% stronger than titanium, so it’s worth it! Take care and happy hiking all!

Maybe Billville will throw an unobtainium fashion show at Trail Daze sporting this new color offering. They could call it the Emperor Line. I'd buy a kilt in that color and material.

Sounds like the hiker gear equivalent of vaporware (promised software that never or years-late shows up).

sprinkle some unobtanium on the medicinal herbs.

The Research and Design Dept. of BSR has decided to manufacture the fridgerator backpack (seen at the TD '05 BSR Gear Contest) entirely out of Unobtanium. They are still working on the 25 mile long extention cord problem. They may go solar.
