Starting at Front Royal need travel info

My last section was HF South to Front Royal and back. Planing another section Front Royal going South . It's easy to get to DC . I called about a shuttle from DC . Could I get closer by bus or train?

Amtrak has three trains daily from Union Station in Washington to Culpeper, VA: 11:00AM on the Cardinal, 4:50PM on the NE Regional, and 6:30PM on the Crescent. Cost is $20 - $31. It's 40 miles from Front Royal, which is closer than Washington (70 miles). You could arrange a shuttle from Culpeper to Front Royal. I've done it in reverse. Don't know about buses.
