I would love to hear if anyone has any comments on the Mountain Hardwear Ghost UL3 tent? I have only been able to find small handful of reviews online about this tent and while they all seem good, would love to hear if anyone has any opinions about it? My almost 6'0 teen and I plan on sharing it for an upcoming adventure.

Unless you are set on a free standing tent, I would suggest your considering the Z Packs Triplex (costs more but has 2 side entries and weighs a lot less), or the Tarptent Rainshadow 2 (also weighs less and is a lot less money).

https://backpackinglight.com/tarptent_rainshadow_2_tent_review/ -- but see also http://www.trailspace.com/gear/tarptent/rainshadow-2/
54.5 ft2

http://www.mountainhardwear.com/ghost-ul-3-tent-1650851.html -- is about twice the price, but is free standing (which is important to me), double walled, and about the same weight. 39 sq ft.

Just some links to respond to "just dad" and to your questions.

Seems like the ul3 is the real two person tent.

The ul2 is only 27ft^2 and the ul3 is closer to 28^2.

The one is really a one person tent or two in a pinch without full sized sleeping pads.

I wouldn't use without a footprint.

Though polycro and sheep shanks knots with shock cord would do the trick for under ten dollars and would only take a trip to Home Depot.
