Of the 5or so times I've done it, for the non dairy/non cheese Black Bean & Vegetable, Black Bean &Quinoa, and Indian Samosa varieties I get about two days in the fall under cool weather. After that the tofu starts going in the Samosa or cheese or eggs starts going in other varieties. I eat at room temp. Careful they don't leak liquid/juice/whatever even though supposedly sealed. LOL. Just had two Amys Samosas last night for dinner.

All you have to do is slice them small and dehydrate them and once dried they can be ziplocked and eaten on the trail as a crunchy snack and I have found them to last for as long as you're out. Otherwise they sour quickly when fresh.

Max two days fresh on the trail in the summer. Much longer on a winter trip. But when they go bad they go bad fast and you'll know by the smell. Ergo the need for drying them as shown.

Packit Gourmet's bean burritos are a lot lighter. Or do your own from Harmony House beans and veggies. http://www.trailcooking.com/fbc/corn-salsa-beans-rice/ or http://www.trailcooking.com/fbc/spicy-black-beans-rice/ is a starting point.
