Received this for Christmas and, my god, does it make awesome coffee!!

Looks like a chemistry experiment when brewing and produces the best, most flavorful coffee I have ever experienced..without ANY residue. Brews at the perfect temperature and produces a magnificient cup of coffee.

Not practical for hiking, still using a press for that, but for home brewing, I have found coffee Nirvana !!!

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder...then coffee must be in the bow....

Coffee is my "start the day"... Hot and efficient is all that is personally needed...Folgers instant crystals works great, tastes fine, leave nothing to pack out.... Hiking lighter.

I got one of these. $5 at Habitat. Works great...

With a vaccuum brewer, be sure to change your filter periodically. I had one, and didn't.... eventually, (after 6 months or so...) the suction got so high the lower chamber imploded. That was a mess.

anyhow, those do make good coffee and are fun to watch. I think that a pump-type espresso machine will make the 'best' coffee; however, I rarely take the time to fire it up.
