I hiked the JMT SOBO from late July through early August, and wrote about what worked and what didn't with food and resupplies (http://hikingthejmt.com/resupply-strategy/). Hopefully it is helpful to those planning on doing the JMT in 2017 and beyond!

No problem! I really loved my time on the trail, and am happy to share information with other hikers.

Thanks for the insight. I am planning a late August 2017 southbound hike.
Shall we put things in perspective? One annoying Catch 22 between 1969 and today: the bear can rule and the denial of the Ursack on the JMT.

I doubt very seriously that this Geezer could complete the JMT in 9 days.
I wouldn't mind working up to 9 - 10 days on a trail somewhere. No re supply.
