Are there any stores that have sales on equipment during Black Friday?

Venchka

REI does not.
You'll have to shop around. Online. Local shops. There will probably be some deals around.

check on line. If you don't see what you want you can usually find good deals AFTER Christmas/New year's as the gear manufacturer's and retailers try to move inventory for the upcoming season.

Enlightened Equipment has run Black Friday sales in the past. No idea if they will this year... They have posted that if you want your quilt in time for Christmas, the cut-off date for ordering is November 7th.

A few years ago if I recall correctly, Warbonnet had a Black Friday sale on hammocks. Not sure if they still do that.

After EMS's restructuring there have been some exceptional deals, often only locally as some stores consolidated inventory from stores that were closing down, and while this period seems to have leveled off a bit a little poking around can exploit a rough diamond.

Actually, the do - but not specifically Black Friday as they are closed that day. The REI winter sale booklet arrived at my house yesterday with a wide variety of gear on sale as well as a 20% coupon for one full price item and another 20% coupon for an REI Garage item.

Water Rat, thanks for the ZPacks tip. I've been lusting after a camo Altaplex for quite some time. A $50 savings may cause me to pull the trigger and order one. My B'day present to me.

The OP asked about Black Friday deals. Starting a year or two ago, REI took the High Road and decided to close on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
The current sale is a semi-annual event.
By the way, on two occasions I have found local dealers who would match the REI 20% coupon. Try it.

Don't get hung up on semantics. I've been an REI member for >25 years, so I'm pretty clear on the whole semiannual sale concept, but thanks. If the OP is looking to save some money, does it really matter whether you call it a Black Friday deal or a sale? (The answer would be "no".)

I also got an email from them with an offer for the REI Mastercard you get a $100 voucher after your first purchase with the card. I belive that the percentage rate is around 10 ‰.

Okay. I'm not hung up on semantics.
The mail man just dropped off my new Ursack Major. Discounted with a surprise coupon that arrived in the mail before the Sale catalog.
40+ years as an REI member.
REI will still be closed the Friday after Thanksgiving.
I'll be outside. Not shopping.
Cheers!

I'm waiting to see if War Bonnet will have a sale this year...I might not have to part with some money. Not that I won't anyway, is just rather do it during a sale and save a little bit.

Hammock Gear and Dutchware have 10% and 15% off to go along with your Warbonnet sale. I just got the CF Winter Palace upgraded to Camo and then threw in the CF Skins to up the sale price to bring it back down with the 15% code. I plan on going to Dutchware to bling it out and get the hardware at a better price as well. Every little bit helped in talking my wife into this as my X-Mas present!!!! I went from  to :jumpin a matter of day's. I didn't have to go to a box store either!!!!

I was planning on getting a pack from HMG but their constant emails about their Black Friday sale, 3 or 4 per day, soured me somewhat. I felt that they were being overly aggressive in their sales tactics. I am currently rethinking as to whether is I should purchase a pack from them or not.

Anyone looking for an external battery pack for their electronics... Now is the time to hit Amazon. Anker products (and other brands) are on sale at big discounts.
Example: Anker Astro is normally $49.99. It is currently on sale for $11.99.

Be careful on the external battery packs on Amazon. Stick with a recognized name like Aukey, RAVPower, Jackery, etc...my experience with the off-brand stuff has been about 50/50. One of the favorite tricks is to have the model number 20000 for a 10000mah battery....so the add reads "External Battery, 20000, extended mah, "...

That's a great price on an Anker. I might just have to pick up another at that price.

Sam's Club is selling a pair of Honeycomb DASH10 10,000 mAh batteries. I paid ~$26 to my mail box including Texas sales tax.
The batteries weigh 8.24 ounces including the 8.5" micro USB charging cable. Each battery has a digital charge level meter, 2 USB ports and can be charged while charging appliances. Not all batteries will do that.

In all fairness to Hammock Gear They did apologize to me after I emailed them about their sales campaign and offered to extend their 20% sale for me. I do respect them for that. Many companies wouldn't even bother responding I wouldn't write them off based on my complaints.
